Welcome to Backcountry Hotel! We are the Evans family and we own and operate the Farmhouse in Sedrun, Switzerland and Backcountry Hotel in Disentis, Switzerland. We are Swiss and American with two young boys and a crazy dog. In the summer of 2017 while camping in Disentis, Switzerland with our two young boys we discovered the Surselva region for the first time and instantly fell in love. That same year we had the opportunity to buy Backcountry Hotel and convert it to a small vacation apartment that we could share with our friends and family.  In 2021 we bought The Farmhouse in Sedrun, Switzerland and converted it to a vintage lodge.  We have received so much great feedback from The Farmhouse that we decided to share our apartment in Disentis as well.  These accommodations are meant to embody the principles of life and togetherness – engage, thrive, cherish, explore, love.
